Simply snowflakes

Hello lovely people,

Bank holiday weekend...woohoo!!!  Except that I am working on Monday but hopefully not all day so it's still good.

I thought it would be good to share another couple of cards I made using some of the brand new LOTV stamps before the next lot are out...yes, that's right, there are MORE gorgeous Christmas designs on the way!

I wanted to do something a little different using the tiny snowflakes and some coloured ink pads.

I've stamped a strip with various snowflakes and mounted it on the card front then layered white card above and below on foam pads.

I added little crystal dots to the centres of the larger snowflakes.

While I had the snowflakes inked up I decided to attempt something a little more adventurous and made a wreath design.

I drew a faint circle to guide my stamping, which can easily be rubbed out afterwards, once the ink has fully dried so you don't smudge the snowflakes!

The sentiment on this and the first card are from the new stamp sets; there's such a variety of styles that there really is one to suit every card!

I mounted the wreath onto co-ordinating pearl card and again, I added crystal dots to the larger snowflake centres.

I hope you are all having a great weekend, whatever you are getting up to!

New LOTV: Merry Messages

Hello lovely people,

I'm back with another DT post to share some more of the fantastic new LOTV stamps that were released yesterday.

This set caught my eye straight away as I just love the chalkboard style design, and I thought they would look lovely on a string of bunting.

I've heat embossed the sentiments in white and then cut them out right up to the line.

I liked the idea so much I thought I'd make a set of four, so I could use all four sentiments!

I kept the same backing paper for all the cards but with slightly different colour schemes for the bunting, and different card sizes, so this one is 12.5cm square.

I kept it monochrome for this one and it's a dinky one too at 8.5 x 11cm.

I went all out on this last one and considering the card base is 7 x 18cm, I got a lot of bunting on it!

I hope I've inspired (tempted?!) you to have a peek at these gorgeous new stamps over at LOTV and do check out all the other beautiful DT samples too.

New LOTV: Bauble Greetings

Hello lovely people,

It's not long since the release of the first batch of super cute Christmas images from LOTV and now these are being followed up by some brilliant new sentiment stamps...and they are available from midday today!

I was really excited when I got my hands on these because of the amazing selection of designs in a wide variety of styles and my head was immediately spinning with ideas.

I'm starting with a very simple idea using one of the Bauble Greetings...and I've made it into a bauble of course!

I've used 1mm foam sheet behind the panel at the top and the bauble to add dimension and just a scrap of DP for a pop of colour.

The advantage of having these as rubber stamps is that you can use them for lots of different techniques, use different coloured inks, or heat emboss them as I have done here with white powder.

Look out for loads more fabulous samples from the rest of the Design Team and I'll be back tomorrow with a set of 4 cards (yep, FOUR!) using another sentiment set :-)

Pearly heart wedding card

Hello lovely people,

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and are up to something nice :-)

I certainly am...a weekend of crafting but also a curry out with lovely friends last night - yummy!

Today I have a card to showcase a few products from The Ribbon Girl and they have so many pretty things that are just perfect for making wedding cards.

Shabby chic wedding card with chipboard heart

I've used a gorgeous chipboard heart as the focal point, which I painted with white acrylic paint and then I added a few pearls randomly on top.

Shabby chic wedding card with chipboard heart

I have to tell you that the ribbon I used is absolutely beautiful but I just could not cut the ends without them fraying, and even my usual trick of putting a tiny line of glue on the ends was to no avail...hence why my 'bow' has no tails on it - lol!
I actually think I prefer it this way...honest!

We wish you a Merry Christmas...

Hello lovely people,

I very much enjoyed having Thursday off this week as well as my usual Wednesday for some extra crafting time.  I'm back in work just for Friday and then it's the weekend...and more time to craft - yay!

I have sooooo much I want/need to do right now; sound familiar?!

I'm surprising myself by really enjoying making Christmas cards (very early for me!) so I thought I'd stick with that for my Dies to Die For DT card this week!

This is a lovely Tiddly Inks rubber stamp that is fairly new in at Dies to Die For and I couldn't resist that pair of sweet little faces!

I think this might be the quickest some new craft stash has made it onto my card as the foliage and speech bubble dies landed on my doormat on Thursday morning and were used on this card by the afternoon!

Well, they are rather fab...am I tempting anyone?!

Patchwork sewing hoop

Hello lovely people,

I hope everyone's week is going well so far...and hasn't been too wet!  You'd never guess it was August would you?!

I'm looking forward to a couple of days off with plenty of crafting planned :-)

Today I have one of my embroidery hoops to share with you.

I wanted to make a decorative item for my sister-in-law's birthday and since she makes pretty things with felt and fabric, I made this sewing-themed design for her to hang in her creative space.

Sewing themed decorated wooden embroidery hoop

The image is from a brilliant cross-stitch themed stamp set and I printed the text on my computer.

I thought it would be really cute to create a patchwork background using tiny hexagons die cut from several different papers and my new Pion papers were perfect for this with the cute ditsy patterns.

Party hippo

Hello lovely people,

I have a Dies to Die For DT card for you today and I finally had a little play with the uber cute MFT Happy Hippos...

...and my new balloon shaker dies/pouches...

...and a fab new sentiment!

To be fair, I do have a LOT of new things to play with so I've gotta squeeze as many in as possible - lol!

Party balloon shaker card using Happy Hippos by My Favorite Things

This hippo looks all set to party I think with his cute party hat and that lovely big balloon!

I filled the balloon shaker pouch with die cut twirly things (technical term!) and sequins, then sealed the back with coloured card that I had stamped the sentiment onto.

In case anyone is wondering, I used the 2 larger dies from the MFT Blueprints 29 set, taped together with an even gap in between, to create the frame.

I'm off to my parents for the weekend but will of course be taking my colouring with me;-)

I hope you all have something nice lined up for the weekend...even if it is raining...AGAIN!
